New Irrigation Extension Specialist –

Dr. Troy Peters

Hello!  I am happy to join Washington State University Extension as the irrigation specialist.  I grew up in the high desert plains of Wyoming , did my undergraduate work at Brigham Young University and I finished my Ph.D. in irrigation engineering at Utah State University .  I came to Washington from the panhandle of Texas where I was doing work on automating center pivots using the crop canopy temperature as a water stress signal.  I am looking forward to working here in Washington because of the diversity of crops grown, the diversity of irrigation systems used, and the diversity of people involved in irrigated agriculture.  I am happy to work with the grape and wine producers here in Washington and the surrounding area and would be happy to help answer any irrigation related questions that you may have.

You can contact me at 509-786-9247, or send me an e-mail at tpeters@prosser.wsu.edu.
